Howard qualified as a chartered accountant with KPMG in 1995.
He has worked in commercial roles for over 25 years, holding board-level positions since 2002 across a range of business sizes and sectors.
In his corporate career, Howard was an instrumental member of the team that turned an owner-managed business from a £300k loss to a £625k profit in 3 years. He then went on to take the business through a successful trade sale.
More recently he was a Divisional Finance Director at international PR group, Instinctif Partners after selling a business to them. During his time there, Howard had experience integrating an acquisition as well as being heavily involved in two sales of the business to private equity.
Since 2019, he has been a portfolio finance director advising a range of clients in sectors as diverse as SaaS, managed IT services, PR, and community energy consultancy.
Howard’s experience includes turnaround, tight cash situations, preparing for exit, integrating acquisitions, and working with private equity.
