Nick Stone

Nick qualified as a chartered accountant at PWC, followed by 10 years of commercial finance work in roles involving tax, treasury and corporate finance.

Since 2001, Nick has worked in a number of FD, CFO and COO roles in businesses that were listed and private and UK, International and three Listed Groups. Nick has gained an excellent variety of experience, some examples of the transaction he worked on include :-

As CFO of an engineering and technology business, Nick played a major role as growth was via acquisition, funded by debt and equity. He led the structuring and opening of overseas offices.

As CFO / COO of a shipping group, Nick led the divestment of non-core divisions, an organisational simplification and restructure followed by a successful bank refinancing.

As CFO he supported a successful exit to private equity for a founder owned Travel group.

Recently, as Interim CFO, Nick took a listed technology business through an emergency private equity fund raise whilst managing its supplier base through a critical cash squeeze.

Currently he is advising an Ecommerce business preparing for a fund raise AND supporting a data business write a strategic plan for fund raising and/or sale purposes.

Nick’s sporting passion is rugby where he has played, coached and only recently retired from refereeing. He was also honorary Chair of Finance for Bracknell RFC, a semi-professional rugby club for 3 years.
